84" Farm Max grooming mower
The mower came well packaged with all of the parts. Assembly took about 2-3 hours with no major headaches. Checked the belts and lubed all of the fittings. The gearbox is lubed with a thick grease so it is hard to know how much lube to put in. I ran it a couple of laps to warm up the gearbox and added the 140w lube to the mark on the dipstick. I will monitor that level as I use the mower to make sure that I have the proper level. After assembly and lube I cut a 5.5 acre field and another 1.5 acre field that was probably about 8 plus inches tall and I set the height at about 13/4" and the mower did a really good job of cutting. I used a 45HP Mihindra tractor and it had no problem with pulling or powering the mower. I used the floating hookup for my fields and it worked fine with no scalping. I live in Tennessee in the foothills and my property is somewhat hilly but the mower did fine. The rear discharge did leave a couple of windrows in the middle of the cut but I was cutting pretty thick grass and that was expected. I did have to cut in 2nd gear, medium range for a good cut but I expect I will be able to use it in 3rd gear if I keep it cut before it gets to high. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and I think it is a good value for the price.
